Live to Air Performers
Awâsis is a Michif Anishinaabe two-spirit land defender, writer, geographer, and spoken word artist from the pine marten clan. She talks to plants and animals, and is continually inspired by acts of decolonization, Indigenous resurgence, and community healing.
Carly Thomas is an accomplished singer/songwriter who was born in Thailand and raised in Argentina, France, and various parts of North America. Aside from her powerful lyrics, Thomas’ music is characteristic of various sub-genres including modern folk, rock, and country. Having played everywhere from street festivals in Paris to the folk circuit in Manhattan, Thomas grabs listeners’ attention with gutsy stories of love and witty onstage banter. Her live performances are known for being dynamic and ever-evolving.
After the success of their EP launch, Ryan Anthony Robinson, otherwise known as R. Flex, delivers IN & OUT. Noted by their peers for its unique sound , R. Flex delivers a well-versed world where electronica marries R&B. Featuring production from A-Fos and Zlender, R. Flex employs their songwriting and vocals to storytelling heights. Tales of voyeurism, role playing, and infidelity haunt the EP in ways that are simultaneously personal and anthemic.
Victor Quinlan writes uplifting folk-punk songs about the nuances of being a child, being Queer, and recovering from adversity, with a witty spin. Any song that sounds playful will also contain profound insights; listen carefully.
Their music is influenced by artists such as Against Me!, Gregory Alan Isakov, and Sara Bareilles, and has been featured on Rainbow Radio at CHRW 94.9, CBC, and Strange Fire Magazine, and is regularly invited to play Pride Festivals.
Willow Switch is a dark experimental folk/drone band. Singing songs about the land WS casts spells with eerie instrumentals and haunting harmonies.
