CAMPUS:

Western is giving two local heros an honorary degree. Olympic ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir announced their retirement in an emotional video posted on social media. Following their announcement, Western university released a list of honorary degree recipients. Along with 5 other recipients the London local duo were on the list. They are anticipated to receive their honorary degree October 24

Beerfest starts today on concrete beach from 12pm to 5pm

LOCAL:

A London teen is now on life support believing to be linked to the use of E-cigarettes. The Middlesex London health unit announced that the high school student was diagnosed with severe respiratory illness. The health unit is not releasing any more information at this time.

London police continue to warn students about nuisance parties as FOCO approaches. Partiers risk a $1000 fine, plus cost of emergency services. If the matter goes to court, the maximum penalty is $25,000.


SPORTS:
The London Knights will start the 2019-20 season as the No. 1 ranked team in the Canadian Hockey League. the Knights won a poll of NHL scouts as the top team in the land and early favourites to win the OHL title. This Saturday the Mustangs head to Guelph to play against the Guelph Gryphons.
