COVID-19 UPDATE:
- Ontario is reporting 721 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the provincial total to 61,413.
CAMPUS:
- As the second wave peak approaches, a new global study suggests hospitals should set up ‘COVID-19 free’ areas for surgical patients – and that doing so could reduce the risk of serious complications and death from lung infections associated with coronavirus.
LOCAL AND NATIONAL:
- City council is facing an outcry from Londoners as it weighs up a three-year, $3-million contract for parking giant Impark to police street parking and city parking lots, a move that would boot the non-profit Commissionaires off a job held for decades.
- Just a day after reporting its highest single-day increase in new cases of COVID-19, the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) says it is considering whether additional restrictions may be needed in the region.
