Steve Andrusiak was born in Montreal, where he graduated with a BA from Concordia University. He also holds a Masters of Education degree from the U of T. Steve was most recently president of the Ontario Provincial Council of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress from 2012 to 2015. In 2011 and 2012 he travelled to France with the Canadigm Group to reveal and reproduce carvings originally made in 1917. They were carved by Canadian soldiers in their underground hideout prior to the Battle for Vimy Ridge. The reproductions are touring and will be shown in France at Vimy’s upcoming 100th anniversary. Steve’s career was in journalism, mostly with CTV and the CBC in Toronto, Edmonton, Windsor, Charlottetown and London, Ontario. He was news director responsible for CBC television in Southwestern Ontario, and again for all of PEI. He moved to London to join Fanshawe College as Dean of Communication Arts. He taught media ethics and journalism for five years at Western University. Steve and his wife Larysa live in London. They are the proud parents of Natalie, Mike and Paul and the grandparents of Jacob.
